8 January

10.00am – Tour of the British Library Anglo Saxons exhibition – fully booked

12 January

11.00am – Views of London – illustrated talk with Guy Rowston

From medieval illumination to French Impressionists, artists have depicted the Thames upstream from London Bridge for six centuries. Some strove for accuracy (and sometimes failed) others for artistic achievement. An hour of a wide variety of visual impressions.

2 March

11.00am – Balloonamania Belles talk with author Sharon Wright

Award-winning journalist, Sharon Wright, has recently published a book revealing the hair-raising adventures of the feisty female ballooning heroines of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.  Many of these early flights began here in Southwark.  Sharon will give an illustrated talk revealing the astonishing stories of the fabulous female pioneers of balloon flight.

6.15pm – Evening tour of the Cathedral looking at the history of our beautiful building

10.30am-4.00pm – Open Gardens Squares Weekend with Friends Pop-Up cafe

11.15am – Tour of Winchester Cathedral followed by St Cross Hospital for tour & tea

6.45pm  – Quiz Night

An evening of traditional ‘quiz’ fun in the most original of settings – the Cathedral Nave.  Bring your friends and family (teams of up to 8) and settle down at your table to answer questions from the Quiz-master (or mistress).  A light supper will be served at your table and a pay bar is available.  Gather your teams early as this is an event not to be missed!

15 November

6.30pm – Roman London – illustrated talk with Professor Martin Millett FBA, Laurence Professor of Classical Archaeology, University of Cambridge

29 November – 1 December
