Feast and Found are two sets of pots inspired by the Ness of Brodgar Archaeological dig on Orkney.
During the summer of 2018, Diane Eagles engaged in 3-week residency at the 5,000 year old Neolithic 'Ness of Brodgar' archaeoligical dig, at the heart of Orkney's World Heritage site. The ceramics discovered at The Ness are unique, thousands of Grooved Ware sherds have been found. Diane is showing her site specific ceramics works referencing the making and decorative techniques found in Neolithic Grooved Ware pots which incorporate items from in and around the monumental site and are made from raw clay found on Orkney and the around the archaeoligical site.
Diane was supported in her work by the dig director Nick card, and Neolithic ceramic archaeology specialists Mike and Claire Copper. Additional help was given ny other members of the Ness team, and local ceramicist Kerrianne Flett.
